On that note, there are difficulties to challenge you even if you go for a cheesy overpowered build. There's so many items and weapons to augment your character you can absolutely break the game if you want to.
Magic is very fun albeit a little bit overpowered towards mid to late game. There are lots of status effects to cleanse with items, as well as apply to your enemies. Referencing Dark Souls again, you will think about your spacing between yourself and the enemy, when to roll and attack etc. You don't get an Estus Flask you have to use the healing items you find or buy some from merchants. Plays like a 2d Dark Souls but more focused on survival.
